HOME OF TEXAS & RESIDENTIAL WARRANTY COMPANY, LLC ANNOUNCE

APPROVAL BY TEXAS RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION COMMISSION

Harrisburg, PA – HOME of Texas (HOME) and Residential Warranty Company, LLC (RWC)* are pleased to announce that both companies have attained the status of registered and approved warranty companies for the state of Texas under new guidelines established by the Texas Residential Construction Commission (TRCC). Following legislation regulating the construction industry in Texas, the TRCC developed a set of rules governing warranty companies, 10 year warranties and builder liability. All warranty companies seeking to continue doing business in the state of Texas, as an approved warranty company, must become registered with the TRCC. Both HOME and RWC have successfully completed this process and are the first warranty companies to obtain such status.

Coverage offered under the HOME and RWC TRCC Warranties provides protection against defects in workmanship or materials for one year, selected portions of mechanical systems for two years and major structural components for 10 years. Clearly written warranty standards track those established by the TRCC.

HOME/RWC guarantees the builder’s performance of TRCC standards in the first two years in the event the builder is bankrupt or has gone out of business and cannot be found. The builder transfers all liability for Major Structural Components in years 3 through 10 to HOME/RWC. HOME/RWC offers mediation to builders to assist in resolving disputes on difficult customer service issues in years 1 and 2. Additionally, this coverage has been approved by HUD for FHA financed mortgages. Now more than ever, HOME and RWC have demonstrated their leadership in the warranty industry.
